Peninsula Women
Peninsula Women’s Hockey Accociation (PWHA) offers an opportunity to play no matter your age, experience or fitness level. The competition creates a great mix of people for growth, extending your skills and having fun with like-minded people.
Who can play PWHA?
Any female over the age of 13 years, no matter your experience. Our existing teams combine those who have never played before to those who have played for year at all levels.
Competitions
The Winter PWHA comp runs April—September. It is the main competition, offering players the chance to secure best & fairest votes, Champions Trophy and be selected for a mixed representative team playing at the Geelong Country Cup carnival each year.
The Summer PWHA comp runs Oct—Mar is a less serious competition and many players use the summer period to keep fit, try out new skills and positions and allows new players to get to grips on the game and the comp.
Uniform
The MPHC Falcons teams entered into the PWHA comp wear the usual MPHC uniform. All apparel is available through the Club Uniform Coordinator.
If you are brand new to the game and would like to give it a go to see if hockey and PWHA is right for you and you require use of a hockey stick, please contact the PWHA Co-ordinator. A mouth-guard and shin-pads are compulsory before taking to the pitch.
Training
There is no training for teams entered into the PWHA competition. Players are invited to attend the senior women training sessions during the winter period if they wish.
Registration
Mornington Peninsula Hockey Club holds a Registration Day before the winter competition but new players are welcome to join either of the two Falcons teams entered into the PWHA comp at any time.
