Mornington Peninsula Hockey Club has introduced more than a thousand players to the game of hockey and all that goes with it. We have been proud to witness big hockey successes, such as our first Junior State player Emily Martin and our first Australian Masters player Marg Nettleship, both of whom reflect one of the MPHC aims, to encourage women in sport and the winning of our fair share of awards and Grand Finals over the years.
Founded in 1995, MPHC was built from a collective desire to provide a local base for Mornington Peninsula players and families and especially juniors and girls, which was inclusive and affordable. This year marks the 30th year of competition and a milestone season to acknowledge the foundation members, volunteers, supporters, officials, administrators, committees, and players of the last 30 years who with a winning game plan, huge vision, hope, commitment, and a lot of sausage sales, cemented MPHC as the pre-eminent leader of hockey for the Mornington Peninsula.
On Saturday 21 June 2025 the weekend of ROUND 10 all current and past junior, senior and masters members, friends, families and special guests of the Mornington Peninsula Hockey Club are invited to gather in the Gunnamatta Room at Mornington Racecourse to proudly celebrate 30 years of great hockey memories and successful hockey on the Mornington Peninsula.
Guests will be treated to a 2-course meal, live entertainment, DJ and special guest speaker and sporting icon – Dr Ric Charlesworth AO.
Known around the world for his excellence in coaching hockey and considered one of the Australia’s greatest coaching minds, Dr Ric Charlesworth is a former captain of the Australian Hockey Team. Given that in the last 60 years Australia has won five Hockey World Cups and four Olympic Gold Medals (nine in total), Ric’s involvement in seven of these as a coach or player is an extraordinary contribution to the sport.
